Research & development project: Arts Mark

For six months I worked alongside Helen Stallard (PR, Marketing and Management) on behalf of Arts Connect, one of Arts Council England’s Bridge organisations, to support the re-launch of the national programme Artsmark.

Awarded by Arts Council England and designed by schools, the new Artsmark award is designed to “…help schools to deliver a high quality arts and cultural education and provides an excellent way to demonstrate this”. (http://www.artsmark.org.uk/)

Artsmark is an award given to schools who champion the arts and culture by embarking on a year-long programme that involves all staff and pupils. Artsmark was re-launched in 2016, Arts Connect comissioned Helen and I to work alongside them on an in-depth programme of research and marketing delivery. This work included a series of interviews with teachers to find their experiences of Artsmark, market research within the region and beyond and an exploratory promotional campaign during summer term 2016.

Our findings were presented to Arts Connect as Artsmark: West Midlands communications campaign (September 2016 – September 2018).
